We find ourselves in a swing state, surrounded by political ads this election cycle.
What I find most interesting as we begin to close in on November is the use of language to entangle a message with fallacies, hoping to panic us out of—or into—a particular vote. Our job as November approaches is to remember that all of this inevitably boils down to real people, real lives, and real situations.
Decisions related to “reproductive rights” that come from our government impact families right here in our community.
Here at AWC, we are able to see firsthand how many women have been hurt by the lack of medical oversight related to the abortion pill and by the lack of funding to support pregnancy centers, adoption agencies, and maternal housing. The ability to find support by those who choose to parent is also an important part of true “reproductive rights.” Providing services that families struggle to access on their own when faced with an unplanned pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting is part of ensuring mothers and families are free to make a choice for life and are not forced into the alternative.
No matter how the political winds blow, AWC is committed to providing an open door and inviting space for all families in need of resources related to pregnancy and parenting.
With your help, we continue to provide focused classes, dedicated support, and material assistance to uphold the value of every human life.
Thank you for standing with us, and for supporting this great mission.
You Can Make a Difference
