Volunteer Client Advocate

(5+ hours per week) Engage first-hand with clients by training to be a Client Advocate in our office. Client Advocates create lasting relationships with clients, run individual parenting classes using our Strong Families parenting education program curriculum, and assist families as they “shop” in our Baby Boutique.

English fluency is required. Spanish fluency is a plus!

NOTE: Men are particularly encouraged to apply to help us build up our fatherhood support and education program, Courageous Dads.

Bilingual* Volunteer Receptionist

(5+ hours per week) Manage the waiting room, daily files, daily schedule, reception and coffee bar areas. Additionally, greet patients/clients for appointments setting the stage for a professional, confidential experience.

* English and Spanish fluency are required for this position.

Medical Services Volunteer

We’re always looking for certified RNs, LPNs, sonographers, and other medical professionals to join our medical services team and assist with pregnancy tests, ultrasound exams, STI testing (coming soon!), and reproductive health education (SRAE).

English fluency is required. Spanish fluency is a plus!

Behind-the-Scenes Volunteer Opportunities (No Client Interaction)

  • Perform facility maintenance as needed.
  • Special event assistance (decor, set-up & clean-up, sponsor recruitment, gathering of auction items, etc.)
  • Photography or videography (for special events, staff portraits, etc.)
  • Donate new baby items for Strong Families, our earn-while-you-learn parenting education program, or for emergency material assistance.
  • Advancement/Marketing team support: research, writing, proofreading/editing assistance.
  • Join Lights of Life, our prayer support team.

Here’s what to do next:

Step 1 – Application

Please review our Volunteer Packet and complete the online volunteer application below.

Step 2 – Attend Info Session

After you’ve submitted your application, you can sign up to attend a Prospective Volunteer Info Session (see below for upcoming dates) for a tour of our facility and details about partnering with AWC as a volunteer.

NOTE: No Volunteer Information Sessions are currently scheduled. We will contact you after you submit your volunteer application.

Step 3 – Individual Interview

Should both parties agree to move forward, an individual interview will be scheduled with the Department’s Director.

If accepted for volunteer placement following the interview, a comprehensive training program will be initiated. The amount of training required depends on the level of experience you have and the specific volunteer position you are interested in.

Volunteer openings for individuals range from one-at-a-time projects and occasional event support, to regular hours on-site each week.

Participation from churches, small groups, and other organizations are a vital part of our ministry. Projects may include fundraising, facility maintenance, baby showers, and more.
